About Tramavia
Weave your stories. Trace their paths.
Tramavia is a writing companion for authors of novels and interactive fiction.
The name fuses two ancient ideas. Trama — the Latin word for the woven thread of a textile, and for the plot of a story. Weaving and storytelling share the same gesture since Homer. Via — the path. The road a story takes.
What Tramavia is
A single tool to write a linear novel or a story that branches out into a thousand paths. A worldbuilding bible where characters, places, and events live together. An editor that steps aside to let the text breathe. A quiet scribe that watches — if you choose — and suggests without ever imposing.
Everything you write stays yours. The manuscript can leave at any time — PDF, ePub, DOCX, HTML, Markdown, Twine — in open formats, without DRM, without locks.
What Tramavia is not
Tramavia does not write for you. It does not replace your voice with a machine. It does not look like a spacecraft dashboard. It does not pressure you with streaks, notifications, or badges.
Writing is slow work. Tramavia respects that time.
Three layers of typography
In the editor, you define roles, never styles. Bold means emphasis. Italics means a thought, a title, a whisper. Headings structure. Citations carry a voice. Nothing more.
Your comfort while writing is yours alone. Choose the font, the size, the theme — ivory, candlelit, sepia. It changes nothing in what you write. It only changes what your eyes see.
When it is time to bind the book, templates take over. A manuscript submission to a publisher, a pocket book, a leather-bound edition, an interactive story for the web. Each format has its own typography, decided then, not before.
Who makes this
Tramavia is built by a small company based in the Province of Québec, Canada.
We love books. We love bound editions, illuminated margins, the smell of ink on paper. We build software in that spirit.
Thank you for writing with us.
